FL.2 – Downtown
Fl.2 (Floor 2), located in the Fairmont, is one of Pittsburgh’s most memorable dining rooms. Its brunch menu is indulgent and creative—think rich French toast, avocado toast variations, and standout brunch cocktails. The interior is visually striking with a distinctive bar and several seating areas, each with its own ambiance. Fl.2 is perfect for a special morning meal, and their dinner menu is equally impressive if you return later in the day.
Recommendations: Try the market breakfast sandwich or the French toast, and save room for the chips & ice cream. Their rotating flavored mimosas (recently grapefruit tarragon) are a delightful pairing.
THE VANDAL – Lawrenceville
The Vandal offers a seasonal menu of breakfast and brunch favorites, from egg dishes to baked goods and creative sandwiches. The space is bright, minimalist, and highly photogenic—perfect for an Instagram-worthy morning. Their maple latte is a must-try for coffee lovers.
Recommendations: The soft scramble is simple but consistently excellent—balanced in flavor and portion size.
PEAR AND THE PICKLE – Troy Hill

BANH MI AND TI – Lawrenceville

BAR MARCO – Strip District

SOJU – Garfield

Recommendations: Try peanut butter, lavender, or any of the vegan flavors. Other notable dinner spots I enjoy include Gaucho, Smoke, Driftwood Oven, Muddy Waters Oyster Bar, and Station.
DRINKS
HIDDEN HARBOR and INDEPENDENT BREWING COMPANY – Squirrel Hill
Hidden Harbor and Independent Brewing sit side by side and share ownership, but each offers a different vibe. Hidden Harbor is a tropical, rum-forward cocktail spot with theatrical drinks and festive glassware—great for groups. Independent Brewing is a cozy beer-focused taproom with a strong local selection and, surprisingly, a very good margarita. If time permits, visit both for contrasting experiences in one evening.

ACE HOTEL LOBBY BAR – East Liberty
