Heck sausages!
I was so delighted when I discovered Heck Chicken Italia sausages — they’re tasty, versatile, and make an excellent base for many easy meals. These sausages have become a go-to when I want something satisfying that still fits into a simple, lean eating plan.
I’ve been focusing on cutting back on refined carbs and sugar while increasing lean protein. I’m not someone who believes in cutting out whole food groups, but small, sensible swaps make a real difference. Since making a few changes I already feel more energetic and less bloated.
Walking daily has helped too. I aim for a minimum of 10,000 steps most days and I’ve been consistent for several months. Some weekends I’ve walked much more — and it always lifts my mood as well as my fitness.
Heck Chicken Italia Sausages
These Chicken Italia sausages are full of flavour and cook up beautifully. They brown nicely in a pan and pair well with simple vegetables, mushrooms, and a light gravy. I like that they are easy to prepare and adaptable to many dishes.

So far I’ve mostly used them in simple, wholesome dinners: pan-fried with potatoes, mushrooms and leeks, or transformed into meatballs and burgers. I’m keen to try more of the range from Heck, as they offer several varieties that look interesting.
Other Heck Sausage Meal Ideas
The ideas with Heck sausages are endless
These sausages work well in casseroles, pasta bakes, skewers, or sliced into a hearty stir-fry. They also make excellent party finger food when cut and crisped in the oven. For a lighter approach, slice and serve over a big salad of mixed leaves, roasted veg and a light mustard dressing.
For anyone following a slimming plan: portion control and filling up with speed vegetables helps you feel satisfied while keeping calories in check. I’ve also experimented with turning the chicken sausages into meatballs and burger patties — both are easy and delicious.

Heck’s Meatball and Burger Ideas
If you want to make meatballs, remove the sausage meat from the casings, mix with a little seasoning, herbs and an egg, shape into balls and bake or fry until cooked through. For burgers, combine the sausage meat with a little grated onion and pressed garlic, form into patties and grill or pan-fry. Both approaches keep the flavour of the sausages but give you a different texture and presentation.
The Slimming Group
I run a friendly, closed Facebook group where we share easy, tasty, home-cooked slimming-style recipes, tips and encouragement. It’s a supportive space for people who like simple food and honest advice. If you enjoy real home cooking and a few laughs while learning new tricks, a group like that can be a great place to swap ideas and stay motivated.

Instructions
